Privacy Policy

Lexi helps you learn English words. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and how to delete it. Last updated October 21, 2026.

What we store

Account: your account identifier, email address and basic profile information supplied by Apple or Google. Your Apple or Google password is never shared with Lexi. Existing email accounts may also have a password stored only as a secure hash.

Your words: the words you save with their definition, translation, example sentence, picture and learning progress (strength, mistakes, next review date).

Settings: your native language and the language you want meanings in.

Usage counts: how many words you save and AI requests you make, used to apply daily or monthly limits.

What we do not collect

No location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers or analytics. There are no ads and no tracking across apps or websites. We never sell your data.

Services that process data

Supabase hosts your account, words, pictures and API. Cloudflare Pages hosts our privacy and support pages. Hosting providers may log technical request data such as IP address and time.

Apple (iOS only) and Google authenticate your account. Supabase verifies the identity token returned by your chosen provider. You can use Apple’s Hide My Email option.

OpenRouter generates definitions, examples, exercises and checks sentences you write. It receives the word, its meaning, your native language and the sentence you wrote, never your email.

Cloudflare Workers AI draws pictures from a short scene description with no personal data. Datamuse and dictionaryapi.dev receive only the word you type, for suggestions and definitions.

Pronunciation uses your device’s built-in speech, so nothing is sent.

Pictures

Generated pictures contain no personal information. They are stored with a public link, and another learner who adds the same word may be shown the same picture.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your data while your account exists. In the app, open Settings and tap Delete account: your account, words, progress and settings are deleted right away. Shared pictures stay, but nothing links them to you.

Security

All traffic uses HTTPS. Each account can read and change only its own words, and service keys are kept on the server, never in the app.

Children

Lexi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
